The Love Letters of Orizuru
There is a back story of Orizuru that makes up the purpose of the origami strewn about the land. If you haven’t had a chance to read the letters, here’s your chance to start.
The story begins with a letter from Élise, which can be found quite near the landing point after using the board to teleport down.
Dear One whose name I hope to know,
Hello. Where are you? I know you are out there, but sometimes I wonder if it’s true. I have been feeling like something’s missing, do you feel it too? This morning as I walked past the ‘Ole Johannes Mill a feeling came over me that let me know you really are there. Now I am writing you to find you. I’m not even sure where I should start, but I somehow consider that you will understand that.
I think about you all the time, but I don’t even know your name, what your favorite ice cream is, or even if you like ice cream.
I just know that you are out there, somewhere, and I’m waiting to be found by you.
Upon receipt, Henri writes back, informing Élise of his existence.
To the one I have yet to meet, Élise:
I received your letter quickly as it was delivered through the winds of time and space, and, yes, I do know this void you speak of.
Do you know that it takes one day to change the path you are walking down…one day out of 365 days in a year, you can choose to be somewhere else, doing different activities, and change your mind about any of it.
What path do you take by the mill…could our paths have crossed already and we just do not know it?
I like strawberry ice cream!
Until next time,
Please visit The Sim Quarterly before Thursday at 6 AM to discover the other letters and hear about the conclusion!
