Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.

Thomas Merton

Art and the virtual world, Second Life© are very similar —you are able to both find yourself and immerse yourself (and maybe even lose yourself) in something totally unlike what you already know. The experiences you gain help you grow and form new opinions about the world. That is what I hope this sim can provide over time. I am very excited to bring to you a quarterly art project by way of The Sim Quarterly.

The project features one creator every 3 months (every quarter) as an artist in residence. The purpose of the sim is so that residents can experience something new and even create a community.

The Sim Quarterly is a group only sim, with a very a small fee to join. Group members have rez rights and can “set home to here”. The fee also helps to keep the art projects going.

The art here is to be enjoyed for what ever your pleasure, but remember, that there are other visitors and they deserve your respect as you would want to be respected.

We’d like for you to enjoy your time here, take pictures of the installations and share them to our Flickr Group page.

Now for the blah, blah, blah part…

The Sim Quarterly would request that you refrain from

  • Pushing
  • Griefing
  • Childplay
  • Rezzing strobing lights and anything full bright
  • Rezzing massive prims

The adminstrators of The Sim Quarterly are not responsible for the following

  • Refunding your lindens if you have to join the group again.
  • Helping you if you are having a disagreement with another visitor.
  • Creating custom arrangements of items on the sim.
  • Creating custom windlights or changing the settings for you.
  • Finding or replacing your auto-returned items in your lost and found (30-minute auto-return).

We are also not responsible for any technical glitches which may occur during your visit on the sim and their effects to you, your inventory, or your computer.

Have fun and please enjoy. We’d love to see your pictures on our flickr page
